Hasilnya, imbangan perdagangan Indonesia menunjukkan USD $990 juta pada Disember 2016, lebih tinggi daripada lebihan USD $830 juta (disemak semula) yang dicatatkan pada bulan sebelumnya. Mengikut rekod, Indonesia telah menghantar barangan bernilai USD $ 144.4 bilion ke pasaran eksportnya bagi tahun penuh 2016. Berbanding tahun sebelumnya, terdapat penurunan sebanyak 3.95 peratus dalam penghantaran. Walau bagaimanapun, penurunan ini jauh lebih perlahan berbanding penurunan pendapatan eksport sebanyak 15.57 peratus (t\/t) yang berlaku pada tahun penuh 2015 berbanding 2014. Sementara itu, import Indonesia bagi tahun penuh 2016 berjumlah USD $135.7 bilion, turun 4.94 peratus (t\/t) daripada pendapatan import negara itu setahun sebelumnya. Ini membawa kepada lebihan dagangan USD $8.8 bilion bagi tahun penuh 2016, meningkat daripada lebihan dagangan Indonesia sebanyak USD $7.7 bilion pada tahun sebelumnya. Berkenaan unjuran eksport Indonesia pada 2017, sepatutnya berlaku peningkatan disebabkan peraturan perlombongan yang baru diumumkan.
